Abstract

The pneumatic cylinder with intermediate stopping positions has a piston (4) sliding inside a cylinder (2), the piston being mounted on a hollow stem which acts as a pressure chamber for a pneumatic spring, which can be blocked. Inside the stem is an auxiliary piston (9) with its rod (6) screwed into one end (1) of the cylinder. Below this piston is a further piston (7) with a spring (15) behind it, dividing the space under the auxiliary piston into a pneumatic chamber (8) and an oil-filled chamber (10). Communication between the oil-filled chamber and a chamber (11) above the auxiliary piston is controlled by a valve (12) inside the auxiliary piston rod, with its stem passing through the rod and projecting (13) from the top.
