[Also in Group XXXI] A driving attachment detachably secured to the tyre carrying portion of a road wheel has means for centring the mounting relative to the wheel axis. A disc 20 has radial slots 21 receiving pins 27 and bolts 28 securing radially adjustable plates 22 to the disc. The plates 22 are rigid with L-shaped brackets 25 engaging one side of the wheel rim 14 and are secured to the rim by hook bolts 31. The plates are adjusted to centre the disc with respect to the wheel by a cam 34 mounted on a boss 33 of the disc. A threaded spindle 44, having a conical projection 45 to engage a centre drilling in the wheel hub, is screwed into the disc 20 and carries a threaded sleeve 47 to which is slidably keyed a sprocket 49 for the drive to a grit spreader. Alternatively a bevel gear and shaft may be used for the spreader drive. In modifications, the disc 20 may have a conical surface engaging the wheel rim for centring, the plates 22 may be moved by jacking screws and have graduations, or the hook bolts may have rubber centring bushes.
