[Class 107] A road planing machine comprises a chassis supported fore and aft by two pairs of road wheels and from which depends, between the two pairs of wheels, a rotor arranged to rotate about a vertical axis and provided with a number of depending removable chisel-like planing tools. The rotor may be mounted for up-anddown adjustment on the chassis, and may comprise a spoked wheel having a rim 12, whilst the tools 2 may be mounted for up-and-down adjustment on the spokes and/or rim of the rotor. The machine may carry a road heater at the front, an engine to drive both the chassis and the rotor, a roller, and means for spreading and levelling loose material.
