[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 4, 1945.] Drawings to Specification. [Class 60] [Also in Group XXXVII] A centreless grinding machine, including a grinding wheel and its driving motor mounted upon a support and a control wheel mounted upon a second support, has means for absorbing the shock of the grinding action on the control which include a variable voltage drive consisting of a motor and generator in a loop circuit and a belt drive connecting said motor and said control wheel, but excluding a centreless grinding machine as claimed in Specification 601,030. In a centreless grinder, as described in Specification 617,329, to absorb shock when the work-piece is introduced between the grinding and control wheels the control wheel 35 is driven through V-belts 32, 34 by a variable voltage motor 37 which is energized by a variable voltage generator adjusted by a rheostat, [Group XXXVII].
