362,037. Grinding. RUNGE, R. F., 25, Shorthill Road, Forest Hills Gardens, New York, and HUTCHINSON, W. L., 330, New Park Avenue, Hartford, Connecticut, both in U.S.A. Sept. 16, 1930, No. 27639. Convention date, Sept. 21, 1929. [Class 60.] Wheels; processes, special.- Grooves, such as those in the rings of roller bearings the side walls of which are parts of the surface of concentric spheres, are ground by means of a wheel having a periphery corresponding to the profile of the groove. The wheel 22 is fed into the work by rotation of its supporting axle 23 about a centre x, which is also the generating centre of the concentric side walls 13, 130 ; after the first grinding the wheel is removed and its working face 36 trimmed before the finish grinding is effected. It is stated that the above method is applicable to grinding grooves the side walls of which are flat. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) referred to grinding grooves by feeding the grinding wheel with its axis parallel to that of the work. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
