Abstract
409,401. Vehicle wheels. MILLER, G. J., Court Lodge Farm, Chelsfield, Kent. Nov. 3, 1932, No. 31054. [Class 144 (i).] Wheels for tractors and like vehicles of the kind having tread cleats extending transversely from a relatively-narrow rim, such as are described in Specification 364,047, are provided with two sets of cleats 9, 10 capable of relative circumferential displacement so as to be used in, or out of, alignment according to the nature of the ground. In the construction shown, one set of cleats 9 is carried by a disc 3 fixed to the hub 1, the other set 10 being carried by a circumferentially-adjustable disc 4. Bolts 7 projecting from the disc 3 engage slots 6 in the disc 4 to limit the displacement of the latter. In modifications (not shown), a displaceable set of cleats may be mounted at each side of the fixed set; and the disc 4 may be replaced by spokes to which the cleats are adjustably connected.
