Abstract

Cyclohexanone is prepared by oxidising a mixture of cyclohexanol and cyclohexane in a mol ratio of 0,07-0,5 : 1 at elevated temperature and pressure, preferably at 100-250 DEG C. and 5-20 kg/cm2. The process, which may be continuous, is preferably initiated by use of an organic peroxide, e.g. cyclohexyl-or cyclohexanol-peroxide,
