Abstract

935,004. Binding posts; terminal boards. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Jan. 26, 1961 [Feb. 16, 1960], No. 5529/60. Class 38 (1). An electrical connector strip 1 comprises a base 2 of synthetic plastic insulating material with a series of insulating walls 3 between strip contacts 7, e.g. of brass, secured to the base by integral lugs 10 bent over shoulders 11 on each side of the base, headed screws 15 with washers 16 passing through holes in each contact 7 and engaging threaded apertures 14 in a rectangular plate 13 located in a recess in the top face of the base, the apertures being aligned with holes 5, 6, in the base. Wires (not shown) are secured between the washers 16 and the contacts 7 by screws 15, and ears 12 on the contacts 7 serve to constrain strands of wire when stranded wire is used. Each plate 13, e.g. of steel, may be replaced by two nuts each located in a recess in the base 2 (Fig. 7, not shown) such that they cannot rotate.
