Abstract

1453981 Two-part coupling M K ELECTRIC Ltd 1 Nov 1973 [3 Nov 1972] 50787/73 Heading H2E A three terminal socket-outlet comprises an insulating base 40 with three channels 41 from the front surface emerging in another surface, and three similar contact terminal preassembled units 44 mounted complete one in each channel, retained by an insulating front cover 47 through openings 48 in which rectangular pins with parallel faces are received by the contacts. Each contact unit is bent from a single strip of metal and carries terminal screw 55 threaded into nut 56, trapping wire 58 entering from the side face. The cover 47 is held by screw 50 or (Figs. 4, 5 not shown) by projecting wings with apertures snapping over projections on the sides of the base. The wide dimension of the pins may be turned through 90 degrees (Figs. 6-8 not shown), and the base may carry channels for two sets of three pins.
