[Also in Groups IX and XXX] Apparatus for the preliminary singling of bobbins (see Group IX) comprises at least one roller fitted with magnets so that, when a mass of bobbins is fed to the vicinity thereof, bobbins are individually attracted, gathered and advanced to a delivery point by the roller. The magnets may be axially extending, permanent and/or electromagnets, inlaid on, and spaced at intervals around, the periphery of a (hollow) roller, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown). The roller may co-operate with a counter-roller rotating in the same sense at similar or different peripheral speed and incorporating magnets. Electromagnets are supplied with power through slip contacts or rings (not shown).
