[Also in Group XXIV] Each end of a roll 6 is secured to a separate spindle 1 by means of a split sleeve 4, the spindle having a conical part 2 and screwing into the sleeve to expand it. The sleeve is formed with projections 12 engaging recesses in the roll to prevent relative rotation, and when the desired frictional grip is obtained, a ring 7 is slid axially along a square section part of the spindle to engage facial projections thereon with recesses 10 in the split sleeve.
