In a top roller for drafting-mechanism having a cylindrical sleeve 10 carrying an elastic cot 11 and releasably fixed on the outer race 5 of an anti-friction bearing, the inner surface of the sleeve has one or more internal recesses 11 engaging resilient projections 9 on the race. The projections may be formed by slitting the end of the race and out-turning the resultant tongues, while the recess 11 may be provided as an internal groove right around the sleeve. The outer end of the race may be downturned at 6 to rest against a shoulder on the roll shaft and a locking-ring 7. An L-shaped seal 13 is also provided.
