846,882. Screw-lifting jacks. METALLIFACTURE Ltd. June 3, 1957 [March 24, 1956], No. 9237/56. Class 78 (3). In a jack of the kind in which a tube 2 carrying a crutch 1 is moved relative to a ground-engaging tube 3 by a screw 5 and nut 6, tube 2 is provided with a crimped portion 13 which forms a sliding bearing. The space between the tubes contains a lubricant, and relative rotation of the tubes is inhibited by a circlip 7.
