Abstract
932,094. Releasable fastening; catches. N. F. PITT, D. J. WILSON, and R. GILL. Jan. 1, 1962 [Dec. 30, 1960; March 17, 1961], Nos. 44733/60 and 9741/61. Class 44. [Also in Group XXXI] A device for attaching saddle-bags and other articles to cycle saddles comprises a carrier frame 13 to receive the bag and complementary arms A and B rotatably mounted on the frame so as to engage detachably a pair of saddle-frame members 12 to connect the device thereto. A curved plate 14 connecting the legs 11 of the frame has slotted ends (Figs. 1 and 3, not shown) which engage the members 12 to position the frame. The arms A and B are held together by a spring clip 22 with their ends 19 hooked on to the members 12. When the clip 22 has been disengaged the arms A and B may be swung about their pivots at 16 respectively anti-clockwise and clockwise from the position seen in Fig. 2 to disconnect the ends 19 from the frame members 12. In another embodiment the arms are in the form shown at C and D in Fig. 7 and are held together with their ends 34, 35 hooked on to the frame members 12 by a spring wire 41 which engages a recessed post 44 which protrudes through a hole 42 when the arms have been swung into contact with each other.
