Abstract
930,553. Making heat exchangers; soldering. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. June 10, 1960 [June 10, 1959], No. 20517/60. Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4). In a heat exchanger for a thermo-electric junction two or more sheet metal channel section members of different cross-sectional areas are disposed with each other and soldered together. In making a heat exchanger for a thermoelectric junction three aluminium channels 1, 2, 3, Fig. 1, are assembled within one another with solder foil channels 6, 7, oxide dissolving flux 5 having been applied by dipping or painting and aluminium studs 4 provided with a solder foil cap 8 and flux are assembled with the channels. The assembly is then brazed in a furnace. Instead of solder foil wires of solder 9, Fig. 2, may be placed at the junction of the channels and solder rings 10 may encircle the bevelled ends of the aluminium studs.
