[Also in Group XXIV] A bevel differential gear drive for application to a wheel-lathe of the type described in Specification 824,086 comprises an input pinion 2 meshing with a pinion 3 supporting a carrier 4 for primary planet pinions 5 which mesh with a pair of sun-wheels 6, 7 acting as carriers for secondary planets 12, 13 meshing with pairs of secondary sun-wheels 14, 15 and 16, 17 driving pairs of aligned concentric shafts 18, 20 and 19, 21, which are connected by bevel pinions to the wheel-driving rollers 30, 31. Shafts 18, 19 are maintained in alignment by a spigot and socket connection 32, 33.
