Abstract

929,169. Operating the doors of skips in shafts. STAMICARBON N.V. Feb. 28, 1962 [Feb. 28, 1961], No. 7918/62. Class 78 (4). A member 10 is automatically moved to bridge the gap between a skip 3 and a bunker 5 adjacent the shaft 4 when the gate 4 of the skip is opened by the usual carriage 14. In the form shown the carriage carries an arm 18 engaging under an abutment 19 on the skip door and is guided by rollers in a track 11, curved at its lower end to retract the carriage 14. The bridge 10 is carried by channels 21 swung about a pivot 22 by rollers 20, 27 carried by the carriage and engaging respectively within and without the channels. The carriage 14 is moved by a ram 16. The roller 20 may, alternatively, be carried on the arm 18. The channels 21 can be carried on the opposite sides of the guides 11 and may be pivoted at their lower, instead of their upper, ends. A magnet may replace the abutting arm 18.
