Abstract
847,012. Operating the doors of skips in skip hoists. PREPARATION INDUSTRIELLE DES COMBUSTIBLES. April 8, 1958 [July 25, 1957], No. 11083/58. Addition to 795,571. Class 78 (4). A connecting rod 6 opening the door 1 of the skip of the parent Specification travels in guides 9 shaped so that the connecting rod passes through a dead-centre as the door closes. In the construction illustrated two connecting rods 6 are guided by rollers 8 in guides 10 which have a straight portion 9, a portion between the radii 11, 12 in which the mechanism passes over a dead-centre, and an arcuate lower portion. A shaft 7 joining the connecting rods 6 can be engaged by a hook 23, 24 on a carriage 19 guided by rollers 20, 21 to be raised and lowered in guides 22 by an hydraulic ram. A lock 14 which normally lies across the guides 9 when the door 1 is closed is pushed aside when a roller 17 engages a cam surface 18 as the carriage 19 rises. As the rollers 8 rise in the guides 9 they press against ramps 29 to force a sealing frame 26 about pivot 27 on the skip against the bias of springs 28 into engagement with a seal on the receiving hopper. The door 1 of the skip is provided with the usual pivoted sealing frame 3. Specifications 812,859 and 831,702 are referred to.
