Abstract

928,844. Panel joints. R. R. KELLER. April 19, 1960, No. 13726/60. Class 20(4). [Also in Groug XXV]. Building panels 10, 12 are secured together by an expansible clamp comprising two bars 22, 24 engaging in the recessed edges of the panels and forced apart by screws 26. Ribs 23, 25 on the clamping bars engage in channels 21 on the flanges of I-section frame members 14 of the panels. The upper bar 24 may be discontinuous and a cover strip may close the gap 30. The expansible clamp may be used together with a corner unit to joint two panels at right angles, or used to join a panel to a supporting structure.
