Abstract

1480531 Panelled partitions DESIGN & PROJETS SA 4 Sept 1974 [4 Sept 1973] 38581/74 Headings E1B and E1W A peripherally framed panel has horizontal and vertical channel section framework members, each vertical framework member 2 being of tubular configuration and having a flange 5 able to be joined to ceiling or floor runners or to vertically adjacent similar panels 1' by means of connecting spigots 18 engaging the ends of the tubes, also being able to be joined to a horizontally adjacent panel by means of a clamp 32 engaging the flange 5. Each horizontal member 3 has means 3. 8 respectively for engaging the cladding panels and the skirting 10 or cornice. At the foot of the panel the tubular framing members may receive a screw jack on a spigot for clamping the panel between the floor and ceiling see Fig. 2 (not shown). The floor and ceiling engaging battens may be secured thereto by adhesive foam (14). The framework members may be of aluminium and the facing panels may be of reinforced plaster or agglomerated wood fibers. The gap between opposed facing panels may be filled by sound insulating material (not shown). The coving and skirting may be of plastics or aluminium.
