Abstract

928,755. Protective arrangements. TELEFUNKEN G.m.b.H. Feb. 14, 1961 [Feb. 26, 1960], No. 5528/61. Class 38 (4). In an arrangement wherein a unit 1 is controlled by a contact 3 closing and shunting a battery resistance combination 2, 8 over long lines 4, 5, spurious voltages 9 sufficient to operate the unit are suppressed by a voltage 12, larger than the spurious voltage peaks, also connected across the line in series with a current limiting resistor 11, and a reverse biased rectifier 10. Other arrangements are disclosed where the battery 12 positive terminal is connected to the battery 2 negative terminal, alternatively the battery 2 can be connected in series with the lines. The arrangement may also be used where an A.C. voltage is superimposed on that of the battery 2.
