Abstract

928,731. Watches. PRECISION TIME CORPORATION. Sept. 2, 1960, No. 30416/60. Class 139. In a watch the frame comprises two spaced plates, each having different levels. The dial plate 27, Fig. 1a has three levels 28, 29, 30 and the top plate 56 has a depending lug 96 to receive the upper jewel of the escape lever arber. The levels 28 and 30 are joined along curved lines across the plate 27. A centre seconds hand 46 is provided. A block 120, Fig. 16, located between the plates 27, 56 has two extending arms which embrace the pinion 127 on the winding stem 125. The pinion 127 meshes with a winding wheel 133, Fig. 12, which is carried by a pivoted lever 136 and which normally meshes with the barrel ratchet 72 which is positioned above the plate 56 and is prevented from reverse rotation by a projection of a detent loaded by a spring 105 one end of which rests on the centre seconds spindle 47, Fig. 1a. A pin 142, Fig. 12, depends from the lever 136 into an arcuate slot in a pivoted setting lever 145. If the stem 125 is rotated backwards the reaction of the gear 72 on the wheel 133 causes the latter to move out of engagement therewith. An extension 150 of the setting lever 145 co-operates with a cam 152 on the stem 125 so that as the stem 125 is pulled outwardly to an extent determined by a lug 153 on the plate 56, the lever 145 is moved to bring the setting wheel into engagement with the intermediate wheel 158 which meshes with the minute wheel 36.
