In an edge-runner mill in which grinding rollers 1 are pressed against a rotary table 7 by means of a spring-loaded ring 2, each roller 1 is carried at one or each side in a circular plate 4 which can roll against the ring 2 and each plate is subject to the pressure of a spring 6, the arrangement being such that the rollers can swing in a direction corresponding to the direction of rotation of the table 7 in opposition to the effect of the springs 6. The springs 6 are anchored at their upper ends to the ring 2 or to the mill casing 8; alternatively, the springs can be anchored at their lower ends to the plates 4.
