776,895. Turnstiles. BAILEY & CO., Ltd., Sir W. H. Feb. 13, 1956 [April 15, 1955], No. 10850/55. Class 106 (3). A turnstile is provided with a non-return mechanism comprising an element 12 rotatable within a stationary part 13 of the turnstile, rollers 16 or the like being located therebetween which are adapted upon attempted rotation of the turnstile in one direction to wedge or jam between the rotatable element 12 and the stationary part 13 to prevent such rotation. As shown, the rollers 16 are located in wedge-like spaces 15 around the periphery of the element 12 constituted by a plate secured to the spindle 10 of the turnstile, the rollers 16 being spring- loaded towards the narrow ends of the spaces 15.
