An edge-runner mill comprises two pairs of grinding rollers 2, 3, Figs. 1 and 2, adapted to roll on a drivable grinding plate 1, each pair of rollers 2, 3 being mounted for rotation about an axle 4 and about an axle 10 of a carrier 5, the ends of the axle 10 being journalled in a rockable holder 7 comprising two angle levers 8, 8<SP>1</SP> the upper ends of which are acted on by springs 9. In the form shown, the axles 4, 10 are in the same plane. In a modification, the axles 4, 10 are in different planes. In another modification, Fig. 5, pressure is applied to the rollers 2, 3 by means of a bridge 11 through springs 9<SP>1</SP>.
