Abstract

928,522. Rollers. FISHER & LUDLOW Ltd. Feb. 25, 1960 [March 25, 1959], No. 7620/59. Class 42 (2). [Also in Group XXX] A roller for supporting the belt of an endlessbelt conveyer is provided with a wave-like tread 23, as shown. As described, an idler roller assembly for supporting the upper run 19 of an endless belt conveyer comprises a resilient metal bar or tube 17, supported at its ends on the conveyer frame, Figs. 1, 2 (not shown), and supporting a plurality of rollers 18. Each roller is provided with a wave-like tread 23 connected by means of a web 24, shaped as shown, to a hub 22 which is rotatably mounted on the shaft 17, the roller preferably being formed in one piece as a metal die-casting or as a moulding in suitable plastic material. Each end of each of the roller hubs 22 is formed with circumferentially spaced axially directed dogs 28, the dogs of axially adjacent rollers inter-engaging directly or through a connecting bush 30 provided with dogs 29, the rollers on each shaft 17 thereby being constrained to rotate together. Specification 806,605 is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 806,605.
