Abstract

928,397. Drawing frames; coilers. G. ANDREANI. Dec. 24, 1959 [Feb. 28, 1959; July 31, 1959], No. 43946/59. Classes 120 (1) and 120 (3). Slivers conveyed between a plurality of first drawing units and a finishing drawing unit are transversely spaced, either as they are carried by an endless conveyer band or pass over a stationary table. Slivers from individual cans are drafted by rollers 5a, Fig. 6, formed into webs N, condensed at funnels 5e and may be guided to the finishing drawing unit E along a table 1c on to which they are led either by rollers 6c, 6d and pulleys 17 or by stationary but adjustable guide funnels. Adjustment of the position of condensing funnels 5e may be effected by means of screws 13d, 13e associated with support arm 13, Fig. 8. Sliver from the drawing unit E is collected in a can either by being laid in it by a rotary coiler head or by passage into a rotating can that may be mounted on a rotatable platform 1390, Fig. 11, mounted in the same plane as a table on which may rest two other cans, which, in common with the can on the platform 1390 are engaged by pairs of arms 1378 mounted on an intermittently rotatable shaft 1371 to move the cans to and from the platform 1390. In an alternative arrangement where the can is not rotated, a table supporting three cans may be rotated intermittently.
