Abstract
380,367. Spinning directly from sliverlap. DENK, H., Nordhorn, Grafschaft, Bentheim, Hanover, Germany. March 5, 1932, No. 6664. [Classes 120 (i), 120 (ii) and 120 (iii).] In spinning directly from a sliver-lap 1, the periphery of the rotating mass of lap on a carrier 2 contacts with rollers 3 positively driven at the same peripheral speed as that of the feed rollers 4 of the drafting system of the spinning frame. The preparation of the lap 1 may be by a Derby doubler wherein the slivers from 6 cans are drawn, combined and wound into the cheese form illustrated. There may also be a preparing machine, intermediate between the doubler and the spinning frame, wherein laps which may be mounted as for the spinning frame are drawn, combined and wound.
