Abstract

928,269. Lubricators. G. D. MILLER. Dec. 28, 1960, No. 44484/60. Class 12 (3). A journal lubricator comprises a block-like lubricating body of substantially rectangular cross-section, one end of which is adjacent the journal, and the other end adjacent a supply of lubricant, the long dimension of the block extending longitudinally of the journal, and being unbroken lengthwise. A wheel axle 12, Fig. 1, is located in a shell bearing 11, and is lubricated from a reservoir 15 by a rectangular body 22 carried by a slide 26 mounted on tracks 28, Fig. 2, the body being urged against the journal by torsion springs 32. Body 22 is of felt material and may have alternate layers 42, 44 of felt and woven fabric.
