Abstract
927,291. Dry cleaning apparatus. CHEREMA A.G. July 27, 1960 [July 29, 1959], No. 26149/60 Class 138 (2). In dry cleaning apparatus comprising at least one washing and drying drum (1 or 2) connected to a plurality of washing agent containers 24a . . . 24e, each container has an overflow discharging into the next container, and the container (24a) with the lowest liquid level has an overflow discharging into a washing- agent still 26, the vapour from the still being arranged to flow to an air heater 11,. while condensate from vapour in the heater is arranged to flow into the container (24e) having the highest liquid level. In operation, washing agent from container 24a is fed by gravity to the drum 1 and the articles are washed e.g. for two minutes. The liquid is then returned to the container 24a by a pump 22 through a valve a. The process is repeated for each of the containers 24b . . . 24e, the operation being controlled automatically. Where two drums are employed, washing is carried out in one while drying is being effected in the other.
