Abstract

927,104. Automatic voltage control. CANADIAN WESTINGHOUSE CO. Ltd. Sept. 25, 1961 [Oct. 25, 1960], No. 34260/61. Class 38 (4). The excitation of an A.C. or D.C. generator (not shown) is derived from a rectifier 15 which is energized from an A.C. source 12 through a push-pull transductor 10, 11. The transductor has, in addition to conventional biasing windings (not shown) control windings 3, 6 which are differentially energized by. an emitter-coupled transistor comparator 5, 8 ; the windings 3, 6 being arranged so that their effect is cumulative. The comparator 5, 8 compares a reference voltage obtained from Zener diodes 24, 25 with a portion of the output voltage of the generator tapped off a potential divider 21. The generator is connected at 17 through a rectifier 18. Feed-back windings 30, 31 on the transductor 10, 11 are energized from the output of rectifier 15 through resistor 33 and capacitor 32 respectively to improve stability.
