Abstract

926,786. Finishing fabrics. K. A. MULLERS. March 23, 1961, No. 10750/61. Class 42 (2). Apparatus for napping the weft of a textile fabric 16 comprises at least two napping machines A, B combined to form an assembly and having driven napping rollers 12, 13, 14, 15, working with and against the nap, mounted on drums 10, 11 rotating in opposite directions and at different speeds to each other, the rollers 14, 15 being driven in the opposite rotational direction to the rollers 12, 13. The peripheral speed of the rollers 12, 13 and 14, 15 measured with respect to the fabric 16 is the same. The drum 11 rotates at a lower speed than the drum 10. Traction rollers 17 convey the fabric 16 through the machine assembly at constant speed.
