Abstract

926,685. Boiler casings; fireproof coverings. WILLIAM KENYON & SONS (THERMAL INSULATIONS) Ltd. March 19, 1962 [March 18, 1961], No. 9966/61. Classes 64 (2) and 123 (2). Cladding sheets 12, for example of aluminium, are supported from a boiler shell 11 by clips 16, each having a shroud part 16a which engages over one of an assembly of rods 13 held spaced from the shell in clips 15 secured to studs 14 welded to the shell and a return-bent lip portion 16b which engages between the interfitting flanges of the sheets. The rods 13 are of kidney shape in crosssection to accommodate the heads 17<SP>1</SP> of screws 17 securing the clips 15 to the studs 14. The rods 13 are covered by asbestos sheet where they are engaged by the clips 15. The arrangement allows for unrestricted differential thermal movements of the shell and its cladding.
