In a multi-unit terminal assembly, comprising a C-shaped metal channel 1 (Fig. 2), the base 4 of a porcelain or plastic terminal unit 3 (Fig. 3), normally held captive in the channel by its inward-turned flanges 2, has opposite corners 7, 8 (Figs. 3, 4) chamfered or rounded to allow the base to be removed from the channel on twisting the terminal unit to the appropriate position (Fig. 4). The L-shaped terminal carrying portion of the unit, external of the channel, comprises a terminal seat 9 and an upwardly-extending wall 6. Ridges 15 (Fig. 1) on both sides of the wall 6 serve to hold brass binding block 13 down between adjacent terminal units, on to a recess in the terminal seat 9, whilst slots 12 can be used for identifying cards. Alternative terminal arrangements can be used wherein the block 13 can be held down by an upwardly-extending bolt, captive in the terminal seat (Fig. 5, not shown) or the hexagonal heads of two terminal bolts can be held captive in two longitudinally extending T-shaped slots (Fig. 6, not shown) in the terminal seat.
