Abstract

911,303. Terminal blocks; binding-posts; wire couplings. LANCZI, L. E. June 20, 1960 [April 2, 1959], No. 11303/59. Class 38 (1). An electric terminal block is formed at its base with two spaced projections 25 which embrace and fit closely against the sides of an mounting rail R having an undercut slot 26 extending longitudinally of its outer surface, and has on its base between the projections a spring clip 35 compressible to pass into the slot in the rail and then expanding into the under cut portion of the slot to hold the terminal block firmly but detachably in engagement with the rail. A locking bar 29, in operative position as shown, holds the tips 39 of the clip apart thereby preventing withdrawal of the terminal block from the rail. Cable ends are secured by a leaf spring 13 compressed by screws 10, 12. Screw 11 is for interconnecting terminal blocks. Fig. 6 (not shown), illustrates a modified clip for use with a simpler form of rail.
