Abstract

1486451 Securing railway rails MOLYNEUX RAIL CLIPS Ltd 6 Sept 1974 [7 Sept 1973] 38959/74 Heading E1G A rail clip 23 operating in torsion comprises a U-shaped or L-shaped bar of non-circular section having one arm 22 inserted parallel to the rail 12 in a non-circular and preferably inclined passageway of an anchorage 20 while the other arm 24 presses on the rail flange-optionally through an insulator 15- the arm 22 having retaining means such as an end lug Fig. 3 (not shown) which snaps over the end of the passageway. The anchorage may be a block 20-10 as shown in Fig. 1 or a channel 28-29 as shown in Fig. 7. The U-shaped fastener of Fig. 7 has a tapered extension 32 beyond a locking notch 33, Fig. 8 (not shown) illustrates an L-shaped fastener, Fig. 9 (not shown) illustrates further possible non-circular bar cross-sections.
