Abstract

1,239,358. Electric couplings &c. HEGO ELECTRIC G.m.b.H. 18 Feb., 1970, No. 7687/70. Heading H2E. An electrical screw terminal comprises an insulating material housing with captive contactor members comprising a lower contact rail 1; two clamping members 2, formed from sheet metal, engaging clamping screws 4, the latter being inclined at an acute angle to the passage for the insertion of conductors 7 and held in a framework 6. The framework 6 has side walls, apertured to accept projecting lugs 11 of the contact rail 1, the lugs being riveted or otherwise deformed to secure the contact rail in the framework. The flattened part of the screw head of the screw 6 is located within the framework 6. The lobe 3 closes the conductor aperture when the clamping member is screwed down completely in the absence of a conductor. Cross connection to adjacent terminals is made via a bus-bar 16 (Fig. 2, not shown) secured by the screw 13 and a threaded hole in the contact rail 1. Name-plates 17 can be inserted in the dovetail grooves 7 or alternatively bosses 18 can be provided, engaging with name-plate 19.
