Abstract

925,697. Drawing. SYNCRO MACHINE CO. Jan. 31, 1961 [June 30, 1960], No. 3699/61. Class 83 (4). A cooled sectored finishing block of a wire-drawing machine has vertical slots extending inwardly of the block to receive the arms of a coil removal device, and comprises a shaft 10 on which a block 11 is attached, a chamber 32 formed by a fixed cup-shaped member 16 and a sleeve 18 rotatable with the block 11, and a pipe 41 to supply a fluid medium to this chamber. The path of the fluid is through passageways 25, tubes 36 which rotatably connect the hub of the block and the sleeve 18, passageways 33 and then over sector members 35 through holes 40, to cool the inside of the block, and finally through ports 41. The chamber 32 is sealed at 20 and 22. The block 11 may be removed by loosening screws 38 and a nut 14, the tubes 36 being lifted from the passageways 25.
