Abstract

781,011. Drawing. MARSHALL RICHARDS MACHINE CO., Ltd. Feb. 10, 1956 [Feb. 23, 1955], No. 5379/55. Class 83 (4). A hollow cylindrical drawing block 1 rotating on a vertical shaft 2 is cooled by liquid which is restrained by an inner wall 5 to travel upwards over the internal surface of the block. The liquid is supplied through one or more inverted U- shaped pipes 9 to points near the lower edge 6 of. the block and is retained in an annular chamber 3 formed by the wall 5 which has an integral flange 7 attached by bolts 8 to the block. The inside face of the block has grooves 18 to increase the cooling surface and the liquid as it flows upwards over this surface is agitated by the pipes 9 and eventually spills over the upper edge of the wall 5.
