A fabric or garment having uniformly low, i.e. less than 15%, area shrinkage is knitted from a false-twisted, bulked filament yarn, e.g. a singles non-torque yarn of a polyamide, polyester or polyolefin (as described in Specification 921,583) having a crimp elongation of less than 15% and a shrinkage per unit length, in hot water or steam, not exceeding 10%.
