Abstract

924,187. Roof lights; roof constructions. H. H. ROBERTSON (HOLDINGS) Ltd. Dec. 18, 1961 [Dec. 24, 1960], No. 44358/60. Classes 20 (3) and 20 (4). A roof light comprises parallel frames 10, attached to rafters 12 by eccentric base-plates 11, and having T-sectioned side members 10a, 10b converging upwards at 35 degrees to the vertical, and T-sectioned top members 10c joining the side members and sloping at 16 degrees to the horizontal. The (corrugated) sheet metal decking 20, covered with an insulating layer 21 and roofing felt 22, is continued up the sloping side members, being curtailed at transverse members 13, 14 which support the glazing bars 15. The roof light gables consist of flanged sheet metal panels seated against the webs of the end frames 10 and spaced from the insulating layer by spacer bars. Lead flashing 25 is laid along the apex of the light, and metal trim plates are fitted to the edge of the glazed face of the light.
