Abstract
923,776. Houses; erecting buildings; struts. J. J. BERTAGNI. June 12, 1961, No. 21138/61. Classes 20 (1) and 20 (2). A house comprises a central column 2 having cantilevered arms 16 at its upper end from which partitions 7 depend; the floor of the house being a concrete slab 3 supported above the ground on piles 4. Each pile may consist of a single-pointed unit 4, 21 or a plurality of aligned blocks 22, 24 and in each case is provided with an anchoring depression 26 for the slab 3 and a ring recess 28 for the floor moulding means 31, 32, 33, 34. The column 2 may be provided with a removable lift tower and pulley arrangement for wall erection purposes (see Figs. 6, 7, 9 and 10, not shown), the walls being provided with door and window openings as necessary and suitably dove-tailed and coupled together by metal couplings (see Fig. 11, not shown). Inward movement of the walls is prevented during erection by a telescopic strut, Fig. 8, having pin-and-slot locking means, locating lugs 58 adapted to register with apertures in the column 2 and an integral retaining cross 61. Triangular roof sheets 6 slope upwardly from the central column 2 and communicate with a central drainage pipe or a tank 88 having an overflow 89. Services such as water, electricity and drainage are fed to the house through the central column.
