[Also in Group XXII] A bobbin comprises a metallic tubular core A having at each end a peripheral projection C indentations C 1 in which mesh with corresponding indentations C 3 formed on one side of the bore of a non-metallic flange B. The assembly is secured by expanded knurled ends D of the core engaging with a bevelled edge section B 1 of the flange. If a gap is formed between the core and a flange by relative displacement thereof, it will follow a non-circular path and thus prevent yarn wound on the bobbin from being caught in the gap.
