923,216. Hydraulic brakes. SONY (U.K.) Ltd., and B. E. AIRD-MASH. May 9, 1961 [May 9, 1960], No. 16340/60. Class 103 (1). [Also in Groups XVIII and XXXVII] In a low-level alarm device for a liquid container, especially the fluid reservoir of an hydraulic brake system, which comprises a housing 10 formed of a body part 12 having a riveted-on cover 11 and within which are disposed two fixed contacts 25 which at the low level are connected by a bridge-piece 26 attached to a rod 35 carrying a float 36 guided in a tube 39 to complete an alarm circuit, the device is held on the container by a locking ring 16 formed with a threaded skirt which engages a thread formed externally about the neck of the container. The locking ring has an upper inturned flange 18 which is a sliding fit without end play in an annular passage 15 formed between the body and the cover. With this arrangement the indicator device can be attached to and detached from the container by rotating the ring about the housing without altering the angular setting of the terminals for connecting the contacts 25 to the electrical system.
