[Also in Divisions F2 and H2] An hydraulic fluid brake reservoir 1 having a detachable cover 3 is provided with means whereby an indication can be given when the level of the fluid in the reservoir falls below a predetermined level. The reservoir includes a hollow stem 4 secured at one end to the cover 3 and extending within the reservoir, a chamber 7 at the opposite end of the stem, the chamber having its lower part closed by a flexible and impervious diaphragm 6, an air vent 17 in the cover and in communication with the stem 4 chamber, and a pair of switch contacts 10, 11 within the chamber and connected to terminal pieces 12, 13 on the cover by leads extending through the stem. The diaphragm 6 is protected by a perforated metal cover 8 which is secured to the cup shaped part 5 of the chamber 7. An electrically conductive plate 9 is located on the diaphragm. When the level of the fluid in the reservoir is above a predetermined value, the fluid pressure acting on the underside of the diaphragm will cause the latter to move the plate 9 to a position to bridge the switch contacts 10, 11 and complete the electrical circuit.
