Abstract

[Also in Group XVIII] The normal level of electrolyte in an electric accumulator, for example, is indicated by a cylindrical transparent element constituted by a tube 1, Fig. 1, which is fitted at its lower end with a conical plug 2 and, adjacent an enlarged head 5 at its upper end, is screw-threaded for engagement with an apertured neck 7 in the lid 8 of said accumulator, and either the upper face of the plug 2 or that of the head 5 is formed with an annular groove 9 or circular recess which has a diameter equal to that of the plug 2 at the optimum height level 10 of the electrolyte and is preferably filled with a red or yellow pigment. In a modification the plug 2 is of stepped form, Fig. 10, with conical parts 16, 18 and an intermediate substantially cylindrical part 17.
