923,002. Feeding webs. ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH) Ltd. Oct. 23, 1959 [Oct. 25, 1958], No. 34223/58. Class 100 (1). [Also in Group XVII] A web-feeding mechanism is of the kind in which a web of material is fed downwardly from a reel by a pair of feed rollers and severed at intervals to form a succession of blanks, e.g., wrapper blanks, each of which may be fed into a folding channel by an advancing article, folding operations being performed on the article and wrapper during their passage through the channel, the web passing after leaving the nip of the feed rollers into a guide leading towards the severing mechanism. A pair of nozzles 23 is disposed one on each side of the path of the web 11, each extending over the width of the guide, the nozzles each being adapted to direct a stream of air downwardly into the space between the web and the adjacent side of the guide 14.
