922,032. Lubricating. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. Nov. 28, 1961 [Dec. 8, 1960], No. 42235/60. Class 12 (3). Means for intermittently supplying lubricant under pressure to a pump or other machine comprises a chamber 2 from which extend first and second bores 9, 10, within which are first and second pistons 6, 12, spring-loaded towards it, a constant delivery pump 4 with a source 3, to supply lubricant to the chamber 2, a passage 15 extending from the bore 10 normally covered by the piston 12, but uncovered when moved against the spring 13, communicating with the bore 5 as shown and covered by the piston 6 when it is moved against the spring 7, and one or more passages 16 extending from the bore 10 to communicate with the machine, the piston 6 being depressed before the piston 12 in use. To lubricate pumps of a reheat system of a gas turbine the passage 15 has a branch pipe 17 communicating with the source 3 through a normally-open valve 18 closed by means of a solenoid 19 when the system is operative.
