600,460. Lubricating air compressors. BUELL, R. D. June 6, 1944, No. 10866. Convention date, Dec. 6, 1943. [Class 12 (iii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] In a compressor in which a single piston displaces air in a closed crank-case a reservoir D, Fig. 6, receives lubricating oil from the crank-case and delivers it through a pipe 104 and a recess 100, 101 in the end plate of the case to a filter 111 and a metering flow orifice and thence to'the crank pin bearing ; the reservoir has a valved passage 81 for entry of oil and air under pressure from the case, a bleed hole in the side of the passage preventing accumulation of air under pressure. A port supplies lubricant from the recess 100, 101 to the crank case interior and the case has also a pressure relief port to atmosphere.
