A domestic hot-water boiler which also heats air and has a cooking plate comprises a doublewalled heating body 1 of substantially cylindrical form supported with its axis vertical on a box member 13 disposed within a sheet steel casing 15 which rests on a pedestal 16 and which is provided at the top with a cover 17 the central opening of which is closed by a cooking-plate 18. Water to be heated circulates between the double walls 2, 3 of the body 1, the walls being of zig-zag configuration to increase the heat transfer surface. An oil burner, as shown, or a solid fuel grate is located within the body 1. Combustion gases flow up through the body and downwardly over its outer surface in spaces 3<SP>1</SP>, 3<SP>11</SP> formed between the outer wall 3 of the body and partitions 24, 24<SP>1</SP>, the gases being diverted over the outer wall by removable baffle plates 26. The gases discharge through a flue 21. The ends of the partitions 24, 241 are closed by plates 22, 22<SP>1</SP> and 23, 23<SP>1</SP> to form two air-heating chambers 25, 25<SP>1</SP>. Air enters these chambers through lower openings 19, is heated therein and discharges through upper openings 20.
